What is an MLA (SUHRID) scholarship?

Every year a legislator in Assam gets this MLA LAD fund through the Legislator Area Development Fund under the SUHRID scheme.

This fund is distributed to poor families within an MLA’s constituency. SUHRID Fund can distribute only for health purposes or education purposes.

Students can apply for these allowances by downloading the application form. An MLA gets 500000 (fifty) lakh rupees per year to help poor families for his constituency.

Under this MLA or SUHRID scholarship, the student can get a scholarship of 10000 to 20000 rupees.

Who can apply for the MLA or SUHRID Scholarship scheme?

This scholarship is given to a student who has passed the HSLC exam with high marks and the family belongs to the BPL family.

• Only HSLC passed students can apply.
• The family should be under the BPL category.
• Students have to score more marks in the final exam.
• One member of a family can apply.
• The family should be a resident of the constituency.
